Hickling Presentation of Cheques.
Money raised by the Hickling Country Fair, Open Gardens, and Scarecrow Weekend was handed over to this years charities. It was attended by representatives from the Meningitis Trust which looks after those recovering from Meningitis and promotes awareness, and Notts Air Ambulance, which has been used to help several villagers in recent years. They each received £4500. Other recipients were St Lukes Church, The Village Hall Committee, Explorer Scouts, Good Neighbours, Hickling Cricket Club, Youth Group, Table Tennis Club, Kinoulton Brownies, Film Club, Silver Jubilee, Hickling Preschool, First Response, Belvoir First Aiders and Kinoulton Guides. These local charities received a share of £4500. The event was also attended by representatives of Rushcliffe Borough Council, who sponsor Scarecrow Weekend, and our special guest, Kangaroo (one of the Scarecrows). This year the Country Fair will be on Sunday June 13th and Scarecrow Weekend will be on 11th & 12th September with a ‘Heroes and Villains’ theme. Thanks to everyone who gave so generously.
